  Volunteering

Digitizing library resources is very time consuming. If you are interested in volunteering your time with this very important initiative let us know. You can work from home on all of the projects listed below.

The Murphy Library Endowment has funded several digitization projects. We would love for you to contribute to the Murphy Library Endowment in order for us to continue our digitization initiatives.

Volunteering Projects (Please contact us before starting any of these):

  1. We have digitized the Wisconsin Labor Advocate newspaper and want to make the text of the newspaper keyword searchable. We OCRed the text but the software had a lot of problems reading the words correctly and we want to proof read and correct the spelling or perhaps retyping from scratch. All you need is a word processor to edit a simple .txt file.
  2. We have digitized the History of La Crosse County, 1881 and want to make the text of the newspaper keyword searchable.
